Earlier this year, Ekkiden launched its internal CSR committee, the Ekkiden Impact Committee, with a clear ambition: to go beyond good intentions and drive concrete, recurring actions around four pillars
Team Cohesion
Environmental Responsibility
Solidarity & Giving Back
Causes & Public Commitment
The committee is made up of volunteer colleagues from across the company who meet monthly to propose, coordinate and execute initiatives. The spirit is simple: people who are genuinely interested and willing to get involved.
Since its creation, the committee has already delivered a series of actions that brought our teams together and made a measurable difference. Here is a look back at what we achieved in May and June.
Since 2023, Ekkiden has held an EcoVadis certification, a recognised benchmark for corporate social responsibility performance covering environmental, social, ethical, and procurement criteria. This year, we are proud to have renewed it once again, achieving an updated score and a new medal that reflects our continued progress and the collective effort of our teams in embedding responsible practices into the way we work.
On May 26th and again on June 16th, as part of the national Quality of Life and Working Conditions Week (June 15th–19th), the Ekkiden Impact Committee organised breakfast gatherings dedicated to well-being at work. A moment to step away from the day-to-day, share a meal together, and open an honest conversation about how we work and how we feel. Simple in format, meaningful in intention, these gatherings are a reminder that a healthy workplace is built not only through policies, but through the small, human moments we choose to create together.
To mark World Environment Day on June 5th, the Ekkiden teams took on a Digital Clean-Up Challenge, that consisted in deleting unused data, clearing inboxes, removing obsolete apps, and disabling unnecessary notifications to reduce our collective digital footprint.
The participation was remarkable, and the combined estimated impact reached approximately 200 kg CO₂e saved per year, roughly equivalent to a Paris–Madrid round trip by plane. A powerful reminder that collective small actions can lead to meaningful environmental results.
The calculation uses simplified emission factors linked to digital storage. Figures are indicative and intended to raise awareness, not as a certified carbon assessment.
Inspired by these results, here are a few good habits worth keeping: regularly cleaning inboxes and deleting old files, unsubscribing from newsletters, removing unused applications, sharing links instead of duplicate documents, and extending the lifespan of digital devices whenever possible. Small habits, practised consistently, add up to real impact.
On World Blood Donor Day, the committee called on the Ekkiden teams to consider donating blood, one of the simplest and most powerful acts of solidarity that exists. A single donation takes around 20 minutes and can save up to three lives.
Blood can be donated every two months, and many donation centres open early, close late, or welcome donors on Saturdays, making it possible to give outside of working hours. Thank you to everyone who took the time to act on this call.
To close June on a high note, Ekkiden teamed up with Sharing Coworking for a Morning Run & Walk Challenge in celebration of Pride Month. On the morning of June 25th, colleagues and community members gathered to complete an accessible 4 km route together: running, walking, or simply enjoying the fresh air before the start of the workday.
The Ekkiden Impact Committee is already planning the next wave of initiatives, with a focus on our teams in France and Switzerland. More details coming soon.
If you have an idea, a cause you care about, or simply want to learn more about our CSR commitments, do not hesitate to get in touch here. This committee exists because people chose to make it happen, and it grows stronger with every new voice.
