EKKIDEN RECEIVES ECOVADIS SILVER MEDAL AND JOINS UN GLOBAL COMPACT

EKKOVADIS2-1

MADRID, Jan. 2023 – Ekkiden, an international consultancy group, announces its recent achievements: the EcoVadis silver medal and its membership in the United Nations Global Compact, solidifying the company's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

EcoVadis, a renowned sustainability ratings platform, evaluates companies across 200 industries and 160 countries based on criteria aligned with international standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the International Labor Organization. This certification assesses a company’s sustainability performance based on a set of criteria that cover four main categories: labour and human rights, ethics, sustainable procurement, and environment.

The EcoVadis certification process began at the end of 2022, culminating in Ekkiden obtaining the silver medal in the first quarter of 2023. This recognition positions the company among the top 25% of the most sustainable organisations in the EcoVadis network.

Their rating system is based on a scale of 0 to 100, where a score of 100 indicates that a company has achieved the highest level of sustainability performance. Ekkiden's commitment to sustainable efficiency is reflected in its EcoVadis rating of 60/100. The transparent rating system provides valuable insights into the company's strengths and weaknesses, facilitating targeted improvements on sustainability and CSR.

“For us, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an essential aspect of doing impactful and responsible business,” said Miguel de Sa Veloso, Legal Assistant at Ekkiden. “Since our beginning, our team has been aware of the impact of business operations on society and environment, so we were naturally pushed to take sustainability measures.”

Further development of Ekkiden’s commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility

Ekkiden has created a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee in order to ensure that the principles of the UN Global Compact and the Code of Ethics regarding Human rights are respected by all Ekkiden collaborators. Moreover, Ekkiden has implemented a Chart of Responsible Procurement to ensure that external providers also comply with these principles.

Simultaneously, Ekkiden has joined the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary initiative committed to implementing universal sustainability principles and supporting UN goals. This collaboration demonstrates Ekkiden's dedication to upholding principles related to human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
